we carefully choose the logs to meet the needs of the individual building. The logs we select take both the local climate and local regulations into account, as well as the customer’s personal design preferences. Every Ecologhouse log is made with Ecologhouse Arctic Pine™ as the raw material. Our range of logs include laminated log profiles with our double sealing solution and Ecologhouse SmartLog™, our innovative new non-settling log. Ecologhouse laminated logs and SmartLog are available in sizes up to 275x275 mm. Our laminated logs are moisture permeable, meaning that they “breathe moisture”, which is important for healthy living and durability, and they are well suited for different styles of design from classic to contemporary.
You can adjust the look of your house with two different log corner and profile solutions. Ecologhouse modern log corner does not have the traditional cross corner overlap. In a traditional log corner house, the logs run on adjacent walls overlapping each other, and in a modern corner, the log layers run at the same height throughout the house.
On the left is a modern corner volley and on the right is a traditional cross corner volley.
The narrower and sharper seam between the mammoth square logs allows for a modern and minimalist wall surface, which is one of the most significant aspects when implementing the minimalist style of a log house. The wall looks the same both from the outside and inside and is ideally suited to urban areas where the plan guides construction. The minimalist door and window frame solution continues the uncompromisingly minimalist architecture.
The seam of Ecologhouse beveled log is clearer and brings out the appearance of a traditional log house in its truest form. Beveled logs are often combined with a cross corner salvo, which is an excellent choice for a spacious building site, an older idyllic courtyard or a leisure home. Alternatively, beveled logs can be combined with a modern log corner and various door and window frame solutions. In this way, simplified architecture is combined with a traditional log surface.
Non-settling log is our innovative new solution for modern massive log architecture. Thanks to our new manufacturing technique, Non-settling logs do not settle as they dry, unlike regular massive logs. This gives architects more flexibility in their designs, with the ability to combine building materials and include elements like plainer detailing and simplified corner joints. Non-settling log technology is also ideal for constructing low energy buildings, and it is especially well suited to individually designed and modern-style homes.
Small bevel on log seams gives this log profile a minimalistic look. Suitable for classic and modern style.
Timelessly beautiful log with a steep bevel is suitable for both traditional and modern architecture.
Eco log corners and joints are developed by our in-house R&D who have more than 45 years of knowhow. Their innovations in corners and sealing systems have been tested in our own laboratory for tightness and durability. Corners have a big effect on the style of the house and, in addition to long log corners, we also offer short and modern Eagle Corners and Neo corners.
